Best Golf Shoes for Women

A great pair of golf shoes can mean all the difference when you’re out on the course. While they are optional at most courses (some private courses require them), there are benefits to wearing golf shoes. Some people will ask, “Do I really need golf shoes?” Golflocker.com answers, “yes, you really do need golf shoes.”

A good pair of fitted golf shoes with fresh spikes will make the difference in your swing due to how your body turns and moves during the golf swing, which contains a lot of pulls, forces and rotations. Great golf shoes will help you retain traction on the ground so you do not lose balance or slip while swinging.

The great news for women golfers is that there are now more options than ever before. In the past, women had to wear men’s golf shoes and they may not have been able to get a good fit. When golf shoes first began being made for women, there were few brands or styles to choose from. Now women have as many options as men in most cases.

Here are my picks for the best golf shoes for women:

ECCO Golf Casual Cool Premiere

ECCO has some of the best golf shoes you can find on the market. These are priced at $160 at Zappos but they are well worth it because they’re comfortable, long lasting, durable and stylish. The colors and styling give them a feminine look and they also go well with anything in my golf wardrobe. They are easy to clean and come with a lot of little extras like lightly padded collar with adjustable hook-and-loop closure with dotted detailing on strap, arch support and Hydromax™ Technology. These are the best golf shoes I’ve worn so I encourage women to pay the extra money and get a great pair.

ASICS Women’s Gel-Linkmaster Golf Shoes

These run about $100 and one of my favorite aspects of the ASICS golf shoe is that it looks so much like a regular tennis or running shoe. I find it really comfortable and they look great, too. They have a saddle design and waterproof exterior to keep your feet dry. They are lightweight which really comes in handy, especially when walking the course. They wipe clean easily and they are durable so they last a long time.

Footjoy Women’s LoPro Golf Shoes

When you want less of a sport look and more of a traditional golf shoe look, these are a great pick. Don’t let the style foot you though because these are not your grandpa’s old golf shoes. Priced at around $100 at Golf Galaxy, the Women’s LoPro from Footjoy has many modern upgrades and features to allow you to get the most from your golf shoe. They come with Pulsar™ Cleats by Softspikes® and full grain leather uppers. It’s all around a great shoe choice.

Puma Women’s Ladies Sunny Golf Shoes

Puma is known for making great women’s athletic shoes and these golf shoes are a great example of that. I found them on sale for $80 and they’re really a steal at that price. They come in two stylish color choices and various shoe sizes. They have a wider toe that prevents your toes from feeling squished in the shoe and they wipe clean easily for easy maintenance.
