The Greater Hartford Disc Golf Open took place over this past weekend at the Wickham Park Disc Golf Course in Manchester, Connecticut. With 84 disc golfers coming out to compete, including some of the best in the world, it was Cameron Colglazier who came out with the victory with a final score of 20-under par in the Men’s Open division.
Colglazier is from Mobile, Alabama and finished in an impressive 11th place at the recent Disc Golf World Championships in addition to several wins this year including the Music City Open and the ALDGC. He was followed at second place by the 2008 World Champion, Dave Feldberg of Portland, Oregon at four throws behind scoring 16-under par.
Finishing in a tie for third place was Ricky Wysocki,
the 2011 PDGA Rookie of the Year, and Jeremy Koling of Charlotte, North Carolina, both scoring 12-under par, while Cale Leiviska of Saint Paul, Minnesota captured fifth place with a final score of 11-under par.
Over in the Women’s Open division, it was the 2011 Women’s World Champion Paige Pierce of Plano, Texas who was crowned champion with a final score of 3-over par. She was followed by the current Women’s World Champion, Sarah Hokom, at second place scoring 8-over par.
Greg Wintrob of East Greenwich, Rhode Island was the winner of the Masters division with a final score of 4-under par, and Daniel Marcus of Merrimack, New Hampshire took the victory in the Grandmasters division scoring 3-over par. TeeJ Barber of Guilford, Connecticut came out with the win in the Senior Grandmasters division while the Advanced division win went to Daniel Hale of Wilbraham, Massachusetts and Meredith Webber of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada won the division for the women.
Other winners included Ernie Motton, Paul Oechscli and Bruce Gallagher.
