Jere Eshelman Wins Disc Golf’s Bring The Heat Cali Style

The Bring the Heat Cali Style, presented by Tru Line Customs, was held in Penn Valley, California at the beautiful Hanging Oaks Disc Golf Course on Saturday, May 26. With 71 disc golfers coming out to compete in this PDGA sanctioned C-tier event, it was Jere Eshelman of Penn Valley who was crowned champion in the men’s open division with a final score of 20-under par.

Eshelman won the Berzerkekey Best Pairs Bash in February as well as the Ice Bowl at Grass Valley in January, and had several victories in 2011, including the NorCal Series Championships and the Steady Ed Birthday Memorial.

Shea Lindick of Grass Valley, California and Ray Johnson, also of Grass Valley, followed in a tie at second place, both scoring 16-under par. Bradley Williams of Austin, Texas captured fourth place at just a stroke behind with a final score of 15-under par and it was Mike Loya of Grass Valley who finished in fifth place scoring 12-under par.

Kathryn Collins of Grass Valley was the winner for the women in the open division with a final score of 2-under par.

The advanced division win went to Matt Williams scoring 4-under par with Jon Baker of Chico, California coming in at just a stroke behind to capture second place in the division. Cyndi Baker of Chico won the division for the women with a final score of 9-over par.

Andy Painter captured the victory in the advanced masters division scoring 1-under par and it was Seth Johnson who won the intermediate division with a final score of 3-under par. Sherri Weese of Grass Valley took the win for the women in the division scoring 21-over par.

The novice division win went to Shayne Holley with a final score of 19-over par and Daemon Rennert won the junior under 19 boys division scoring 24-over par. Finally, it was Nick St. John who won the junior under 13 boys division with a final score of 54-over par.
