Personal trainers can be found in every gym across the country. They are often used by gym goers to get advice on diet and exercise routines. Many people who join a gym often feel when they walk in to the weights room that it can be a daunting place full of men with big muscles who have obviously been taking care of their bodies for quite some time. New visitors to the gym just don’t know where to start and one of the easiest ways to get going is to get a personal trainer. The kind of trainer you get will depend on your personality and probably your gender as well. Men will usually find it easier to work with a male personal trainer, while women prefer a female more often than not. This isn’t always the case, however. You will have to think about what will work best for you. The trainer will often introduce the new gym goer by showing them round the gym, teaching the person how to use all the machines in the correct manner without injuring themselves. Once the basic introduction is done it is time for the personal instructor to find out a bit more about the person and what their goals are and their reasons for joining the gym. For instance, some people might have joined the gym to lose weight, while others may have joined to improve strength and to pack on muscle. Once the instructor has found out the person’s goals, they will make a training programme based around what their goals are. For example, if a person’s goal is to lose weight, the instructor will make the person a training programme based around lots of cardio, like using the running machines or the rowing machines or the cross trainers. They will also give the person techniques to increase their fat loss and to get the most out of using each machine. For example, on the running machine to have it at a very fast speed and sprint for minute intervals. This increases the heart rate and then allows it to decrease again and this technique increases the human body’s ability to burn fat.
If the person’s goal is to increase muscle, the personal trainer will show the person how to use the free weights and weight machines correctly. Using machines incorrectly can be very dangerous and can cause permanent damage. Once the trainer has given instruction how to use the free weights correctly, they may then show the person techniques to pack on muscle, such as German volume training or super setting. Both of these techniques pack on muscle very fast and give noticeable results.
