Mike Moser Wins Disc Golf’s Pennsylvania State Disc Golf Championship

The Pennsylvania State Disc Golf Championships were held in White Haven and Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania over the weekend of June 2-3, 2012. With 102 disc golfers coming out to compete it was Mike Moser of Wilmington, Delaware who was crowned champion in the men’s open division with a final score of 31-under par.

Moser has been on fire this year, winning the Rockburn Rumble and the Brandywine Breeze last month as well as the recent Roundabout tournament. He was followed by the End of Winterfest winner Nate Krahn of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania scoring 24-under par. Dylan Horst of Columbia, Pennsylvania captured third place with a final score of 15-under par while Justin Madore of Quakertown, Pennsylvania came in at fourth place scoring 12-under par and Jamey King of Allentown, Pennsylvania finished in fifth place at just a stroke behind with a final score of 11-under par.

Tracy Gruber of Macungie, Pennsylvania was the winner of the women’s open division scoring 61-over par. She had a recent victory at the King of the Mountain, competing in the advanced division.

Robin Billig of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania won the grandmasters division with a final score of 10-under par and Matt Egan of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania followed Billig in second place scoring 4-under par.

The advanced division win went to Justin Seersma of Luzerne, Pennsylvnia with a final score of 3-under par while Bill Charron of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania took second place in the division scoring at just a stroke behind. Elfriede Eberly of Enola, Pennsylvania won the division for the women with a final score of 40-over par.

Scoring 16-over par to win the advanced masters division was Kevin Hall of Versailles, Kentucky, while Carol Holmes won the division for the women. Glen McCoon of East Fallowfield, Pennsylvania captured the victory in the intermediate division with a final score of 6-over par, and Lisa Krisler took the victory in the women’s intermediate division.

Finally, Bryan Shellhamer won the recreational division scoring 7-over par and Wesley Scott took the win in the junior under 16 boys division.
