New Disc Golf Show Showcases The Great Sport and Its Players

Thanks to the efforts of disc golfer Jesse Oquist, a new disc golf show, DiscGolf.Me, has been created. Oquist’s show will feature highlights from disc golf tournaments as well as interviews with the players and the latest news in the world of one of fastest growing sports on the planet, disc golf.

The first episode aired on May 4 and features highlights from the Glass Blown Open as well as Will Schusterick  who won not only the very tough tournament that was held in Emporia, Kansas during the weekend the region experienced torrential winds and even tornadoes, but he also captured victories at the SOKY Championships, the No Fools Day and the Standing Rocks Open.

Oquist’s show is professionally done and a great effort to showcase the sport to the world. While playing on a local course, he met local pro disc golfer Philo Brathwaite, who was generous with his time in passing on some of his tips to Oquist as well as being inspirational. Brathwaite, a member of the Innova Disc GolfTeam, is from Pasadena, California and is a three-time SoCal Tour Series Champion. He is also a strong advocate for the sport.

Brathwaite is the founder and director of Team Philo,  ”created to bring awareness, enthusiasm and Disc Golf Clinics to new communities around the world.”  In 2011, Team Philo visited the Caribbean nation of Barbados, helping to introduce the sport to the island, along with another top disc golf pro, Dave Feldberg, the 2008 PDGA World Champion.

Team Philo is also looking forward to helping establish permanent courses around the island and they are dedicated to expanding the Disc Golf community around the world.

Oquist will be heading up up the coast of California in two weeks to meet up with the many pros who will be taking part in the Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup that will take place at the world famous Delaveaga Disc Golf Course in Santa Cruz from May 18 – 20. The central coast beach town is considered the epicenter of the world of disc golf and the legendary course is considered the “Pebble Beach” of disc golf.

Whether you’re a veteran player or just learning about disc golf, DiscGolf.Me is well worth checking out.
